Glossary

On Center (o.c.)

The distance between the center of one member to the center of another member. For example, there are usually 16” or 24” between studs, joists and rafters.


OSB (Oriented Strand Boards)

An engineered wood panel formed by layers of wood flakes or strands, laminated together with glue under extreme pressure. Can be used as substitute for plywood in exterior walls and rood sheathing.
